FLOOD warnings are in place in Keswick this morning due to heavy rainfall.

Flooding is affecting locations near the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water with lake levels peaking around 11:00am yesterday, however, further rain is expected today.

Derwentwater lake levels at the Lodore gauge could reach 1.96 this morning.

A spokesperson said: "We are clearing debris in the area and we will continue to monitor the forecast and issue warnings if necessary."

"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."

Now a flood alert has been issues, this means you need to prepare as flooding is possible.

Levels remain high at Derwentwater due to heavy rainfall.

Areas most at risk include low lying areas bordering the shores of Derwentwater and Keswick Camping and Caravan Club Site.

No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

River levels will start to fall at the Lodore gauge later today, (November 9).
