NORTH Cumbrian hospitals have reported that their A&E departments are 'very busy'.
North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) posted on social media saying that their emergency services are currently in high demand.
They have asked those who do not have emergency health concerns to please consider using other medical health options available.
In the social media post, NCIC wrote: "We are very busy at the A&E department at the Cumberland Infirmary this morning.
"If you need us in an emergency, we are here for you. If you have an urgent health condition, please consider alternatives first such as 111.nhs.uk, your pharmacy our GP.
"Our Urgent Treatment Centres at Penrith and Keswick are also open and have much shorter waits. You can see all the live waiting times on our website.
"If you do need to attend, you may experience a long wait, so please be kind to our staff who are there to help you."
