A beach clean-up event is looking for volunteers to help protect the coastline.
The Solway Coast National Landscape, Cumberland Council, and the Marine Conservation Society are organising a clean-up event at Mawbray Banks, between Allonby and Silloth, on Monday, September 23.
The clean-up, part of the Great British Beach Clean, aims to engage the community in protecting the coastline.
The organisers will provide all necessary equipment and tools.
The event will start at 10am, with volunteers meeting at Mawbray Banks' south car park.
From there, participants will walk to the beach.
Volunteers are advised to wear suitable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather, as it can be windy on the beach.
They should also bring any drinks and snacks they might need during the event.
Volunteer participation, even for just an hour, can help to 'make a difference' in keeping the coastline clean while supporting 'important conservation efforts'.
Volunteers will be able to spend time outdoors which is said to be 'great for your wellbeing'.
The Solway Coast National Landscape is committed to preserving the natural beauty, landscape, and biodiversity of the coastal environment.
Through community engagement, conservation projects, and educational events, they work to ensure the Solway Coast remains a 'special place for future generations'.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to register via info@solwaycoastaonb.org.uk.
