CUMBERLAND Council is planning to adopt a green action plan for its fleet of vehicles.
Members of the executive agreed to a proposed Green Fleet Action Plan at a meeting on Tuesday (September 17) at Allerdale House in Workington.
They were discussing One Council, One Fleet: Corporate Fleet Management Strategy report, which sets out a single corporate approach to the management of the Council’s extensive and diverse fleet of vehicles, plant, and machinery.
The proposed strategy will now be referred to the council's business and resources overview and scrutiny committee for consideration and, if no further material changes are requested by the members, the decision to finalise and approve the strategy will be delegated to the council's director of resources.
