Volunteers to help organise a family gala day in Maryport this summer will be rewarded.
Maryport Festivals, which is helping to organise the event, has offered a free blues trail wristband for every volunteer.
Lee Williamson, chairman of the gala committee, and secretary Thomas Rodd have said they want this to be a huge family fun day which will replace the now defunct Maryport carnival.
Mr Williamson said: "The accent will be on family, which is something the carnival was not in recent years."
Fundraising events are being held to raise money for the gala.
The first event will be held at the Netherhall Old Boys' Rugby Club on Crosby Street on Friday May 27.
This will include a pub quiz, raffles and live entertainment.
On Sunday, June 12, whole families will be able to take part in the second event - a Pooh stick race.
Bits of wood provided by Flimby businessman Ian Tyson will be thrown from the blue pedestrian bridge on Irish Street.
Maryport Town Council has given the group £250 and will pay for road closures.
Allerdale council is also offering help and support.
Organisers the town council and Round Table are also asking for any other donations and help for the gala day on July 9.
