Volunteers are needed to help make the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations a success in Maryport.
Maryport town councillors have been given £1,000 to be use to mark the occasion in their wards.
Details are still being finalised but several councillors are pooling resources.
Councillor Sharon Stamper called a meeting at which councillors Sam Barcock, Brian Carter, Tom Todd and Glenn McAlpine agreed to pool their money to organise a big fun day at the Ewanrigg Community Centre.
Working with Ewanrigg and Netherton Tenants' and Residents' Association, Ewanrigg Local Trust and Maryport Festivals, the plan is have the event in June.
It is hoped to have a party menu, attractions and games for children and music and entertainment for all ages.
An inflatable marquee will be used as well as the centre.
Coun Stamper said she hoped that the event might be able to attract sponsorship from organisations like social landlords, which have hundreds of properties in the area.
She added: "We also need volunteers. The more we get, the more we can do and the more successful the event will be."
Other councillors are planning events in their own area.
Carol Tindall and Peter Kendall are looking to use their cash to boost Flimby carnival.
Angela Kendall, Billy Pegram and Gary Hampson are trying to organise something at the Settlement and mayor Linda Radcliffe wants to hold an event at All Soul's Church.
Anyone wishing to help with the Ewanrigg event is asked to call Coun Stamper on 07710115303.
