HAY, David - Ann, Gillian, Wendy and family of the late David, wish to thank all their relatives, friends, neighbours and former colleagues of Cumbrian Newspapers, for all their cards, letters of sympathy, flowers, donations and love shown to them during their recent bereavement. It has been a long journey for David, having had Alzheimer's for a number of years, then a stroke eighteen months ago robbing him of his speech. We would like to thank sincerely all the staff on Elm Ward, Cumberland Infirmary, Ruskin Ward, Carleton Clinic and Carlyle Suite, Lanercost House for their unfailing care and attention. They gave so much love to us, as well as David, which helped us to keep cheerful and cope from day to day.
Thank you to the Rev'd Jan van den Berg who led a beautiful comforting service at St Mary's Church, then committal at Carlisle Crematorium and to Robert Park for playing the organ. It meant so much to us. Thank you so much for the donations, over &pound1,200, which were divided between the church and the Alzheimer's Society. Late donations have been given to the Carlyle Suite at Lanercost House Care Home, Berkeley Grange, Carlisle. Thank you to Michael Potts and staff of Greysteads Hotel, for catering in the Rockcliffe Centre and to Cath Johnston and her family for preparing the hall.

Finally, many thanks to Michael Maddison and staff of the Co-op Funeralcare, Etterby Street, Carlisle for their care and guidance.
