COOK The Reverend John M. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday 19th February 2020 at home aged 72 years. John leaves behind his beloved family: his wife Janet; his two sons Nick and Andrew, his daughter-in-law Cara and his son's fiancé Roberto; and his sister Annette, and brother Peter. John served as the vicar of St John's Parish, Workington from 1987 to 2014. He will be fondly remembered by many friends and parishioners in Workington and further afield. His passions in life were cricket and football (he was an avid Reds and Crystal Palace supporter). He also volunteered to run a local team, JJ's Football Team. All are welcome to celebrate John's life at his funeral service in St John's Church, Workington on Thursday, 5th March at 12:15pm. This will be followed by cremation at Distington Hall Crematorium. John will be received into church on Wednesday 4th March at 6pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to be given to Sandelands Funeral Directors Ltd. (01900 602753) will be divided between Hospice At Home, St John's Church and Cancer Research UK.
