YOU can study the Bible, or, if you are Rose Lewis, knit it.
The knitted Bible scenes created by the 68-year-old will be on show in St Mungo's Church, Dearham tomorrow (August 25).
She held a similar exhibition last year but has since added 20 new scenes to her collection.
Life itself will be depicted at the foyer to the church. There will a knitted look at life from birth to death. It starts with a Christening by a vicar who looks suspiciously like St Mungo's own the Rev Mary Day. There is a wedding and then a funeral where the chief pall bearer has more than a passing resemblance to village funeral director Stephen Johnston.
In the past Rose has knitted an entire ark and all the animals that go in it and her Nativity features all the characters and animals who were there on Christmas night.
She will also have a display of 99 sheep in the church foyer, depicting the animal the shepherd left to so in search of the one that had gone astray. One of the challenges for the public is to find lost lamb.
The 20 new scenes include the tax collector Zaccheus, who Jesus invited to dine with him, Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel.
There is also a depiction of King David watching as the beautiful Bathsheba slips into a pool.
The exhibition, in the Grade I listed church, will run from 10am to 4pm.
Entry is free although donations would be welcomed for the upkeep of the church.
Rose said she has also included a teaser on the programme: "Mary may Sing!"
She added: "Our vicar has a wonderful voice and we are hoping she will be available to sing for us at some time during the day."
