A Workington estate will soon have a new cinema and live venue.
The Moorclose Community Centre has invested £40,000 in projection and sound system for its 215-seat theatre.
As well as showing a variety of films including the latest blockbusters, it will also be hosting live entertainment shows. The refurbished theatre cafe will be available for people to buy popcorn and drinks.
The centre's chairman Betty Armstrong said: "This is really exciting time for the Moorclose Community Centre. Everyone loves a cinema and we want to show a full range of films night or day, so that as many people will be able to come along as possible. This is all part of the centre's aim to open to more people and we continue to be at the heart of the community. I can’t wait for the doors to open on the first night."
