More than 70 people have tied the knot at Cockermouth Town Hall since the service was first offered a year ago.
Weddings were transferred from the county council's ceremony rooms, off Station Street, to the listed, riverside building last October.
Town clerk Sheila Brown and her assistant, Kirstie Goodger, deal with all the services and are delighted with how popular the venue is.
"We had four weddings on Saturday - which is the most we have ever had in one day," said Mrs Brown.
"It's exceeded our expectations and been more popular than we thought.
"People love the town hall, the beautiful window and the location.
"It's also great for local businesses as people will go on elsewhere in town after the ceremony."
About half of the 73 weddings held in the past year have been booked by local people, the remainder have been from people living outside the county.
They have already taken 27 bookings for next year and five for 2019.
