A PROLIFIC studio project will be making its first live outing with a must-see show at Wordsworth House this weekend.
As part of the Cockermouth Live event, The Heartwood Institute will be running through a set based around the album The Wild Hunt Of Hagworthy.
The solo project of Cockermouth-based musician Jonathan Sharp, it has seen a string of albums released over the past two years, mostly inspired by 1970s novels.
Throughout the 1990s, Jonathan was involved in the industrial music scene, touring across the UK and USA, and releasing numerous albums, but his recent work has involved creating library and production music for various TV, film and trailer projects, and renowned publishers such as Universal, Warner, and BMG.
Jonathan says: "This will be the first Heartwood live show, and it's me and a table full of technology - laptops, samplers, synthesisers, that kind of thing.
"Though there are plans for more gigs, probably more further afield, doing a live set in Wordsworth House seems highly appropriate."
The Heartwood Institute has been very busy in recent months, with two releases: a mix tape which also came in a limited cassette, and Burgh Marsh, a digital only EP.
Heartwood remains one of the best-selling Cumbrian artists on Bandcamp, and has also completed a recording a session for internet station Dandelion Radio, which will be aired next month.
The performance on Saturday July 1 starts around 5pm.
