An action group has been relaunched in Workington to fight for better flood defences in the area.
More than 60 flood victims attended a support group meeting at Camerton Hall on Tuesday as the clean up continues following December's storms.
They agreed to resurrect Workington Flood Action Group, formed after the 2009 floods, and work towards reducing the future flood risk.
Its range will be extended to include Maryport and Flimby as well as Workington and its immediate surroundings.
Amanda Wallace, of Barepot, was elected as chairman, with Judith Wilkinson, who has a house on Hall Park View, as secretary.
Nichola Kelly, Karen McLoughlin and Paul Douglas are all helping get the group off the ground.
It will meet again at Camerton Hall on Tuesday at 7pm.
All local flood victims and anyone keen to help the cause is invited to take along suggestions and ideas about the improvements that could be made.
The group is also working with Allerdale councillor Konrad Hansen to arrange a public meeting with the Environment Agency.."
