A Workington 93-year-old as lost for words when kind-hearted staff at the town's McDonald's branch threw him a surprise birthday party.
Harry Scott, of Crooklands, High Harrington, is a regular customer and eats at the restaurant six days a week.
His wife Martha died six years ago and in 2013 he started going to McDonald's to help him cope with loneliness.
Since then he has become a popular figure with staff and fellow diners and even has his own table.
He normally comes in early in the afternoon for a Happy Meal and sometimes returns for his evening meal.
Mr Scott has been rewarded for his loyalty by the restaurant's head office and can now eat there for free.
He said: "The kids who come in here are mine as I don't have any of my own. It's company for me.
"I've been coming here for two years. I come in every
day except Sundays when I go to my goddaughter's."
Mr Scott was born in Distington in 1922 and has lived in Workington all his life.
Staff put up banners and balloons when he came in and bought him whiskey and shortbread as presents.
He added: "When they threw the surprise party I had to wipe my eyes.
"I only get a Happy Meal though as I can't each that much!"
Jack Holliday, crew member, said: "He's a one-off. We get regular customers but he's one that stands out.
"He's bubbly and full of life, especially for a 93-year-old."
