No further action will be taken against a Workington man arrested in connection with an incident at the town's Clay Flatts Industrial Estate.
Richard Brown, 48, died at Howdens Joinery on Clay Flatts on November 10 last year.
A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and was on police bail until April 30.
The Crown Prosecution Service recently decided not to take any further action.
However, the Health and Safety Executive now have the lead in the investigation, which is ongoing.
A spokeswoman said it was not known when the investigation was likely to be over.
It is understood that Mr Brown, of Hull, who was working for a third party agency, was trapped under pallets on a forklift while unloading his lorry.
