A Loweswater artist will display a selection of his pen and ink pictures at Percy House Gallery in Cockermouth next week.
Bob Askew's exhibition runs from next Friday until September 30.
Bob, 51, who was brought up in Blackpool, developed an interest in art in his younger years backpacking around Europe.
He created murals, portrait sketches and caricatures to pay for his land hopping and food.
A regular visitor to the Lake District since childhood, he moved to Loweswater in 2008, where he combined his work as a gardener with a renewed interest in working on pen and ink illustrations.
He sells his artwork through local galleries, has had images turned into greetings cards and has illustrated books internationally.
Bob says: "The essence of my style is to produce work illustrating wildlife and flora to access their character."
