Adults and children cheered as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Keswick.
Crowds gathered in the town to catch a glimpse of William and Kate.
The Royal couple visited the Cumbrian town today and thousands of people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of them.
Heather Selkirk, 35, from Whitehaven, arrived early to bag herself a front-line spot. She said: “I’m the number one fan, I’m a proper royalist. I’ve been here since 9 o' clock.”
Isaac Walsh, 10, a pupil at St Herberts school, Keswick, said: "I’m excited. I hope Prince William’s speech is good.
"We saw Prince Charles when he came to Keswick."
Angela Kirkbride, 48, of Keswick, is there with her friend Daisy Sowerby and they are both excited to see the Royal couple.
Angela said: "They are a lovely couple. It’s nice for them to come to this area. It’s lovely."
Stuart from Astral Circus is performing for the crowds, keeping them busy ahead of the main event.
William and Kate will meet charities nominated by Cumbria Community Foundation, including volunteers from Keswick Mountain Rescue, Keswick Flood Action Group and Calderwood House.
Andy Beeforth, chief executive of Cumbria Community Foundation, said: "It’s been great to be part of organising the visit and introducing the Duke and Duchess to so many amazing groups and people."
Janet Day, 60, from Powys, Wales, is on holiday in Keswick.
She said: "We just walked into town to do our shopping and saw all the police so we stopped. I’ve got my phone to take some pictures."
Gladys Howard has also come to Keswick on holiday from Grimsby and is looking forward to seeing Kate: "You see her on TV and it’s nice see what she looks like in real life."
