MOUNTAIN rescue teams were called to assist two walkers at the top of Helvellyn.
Last night Patterdale Mountain Rescue were called to the summit of the mountain in the Lake District to help to walkers.
A spokesman for Patterdale Mountain Rescue said: "It was dark and the high fells were in full winter condition. We found then escorted the two walkers to safety.
"Remember to please take plenty of warm clothes, a head torch, waterproofs, map and compass plus crampons and an ice axe. All of these items are essential."
The rescue lasted about four-and-a-half hours.
