Emergency services have worked together on a multi-service operation after receiving reports that a man was threatening to jump off a bridge.
Police were contacted at 10.31pm on November 17 to a report of concern for welfare on Navies Bridge, River Derwent in Workington.
CGOC Belfast Coastguard contacted Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team late on Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The team were asked to assist Cumbria Police with a person who was threatening to jump into the River Derwent.
The team arrived at Navies Bridge and were deployed to the river side as a precaution.
Neighbouring teams at Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team and Workington Lifeboat also attended along with Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, Police and North West Ambulance Service.
The man, in his 20s, was left in the care of health professionals with the ambulance service.
