A 16-MONTH driving ban has been imposed on a 27-year-old motorist from Aspatria for careless driving and drink-driving.
Daniel Alexander Dean, of Lawson Street, Aspatria, admitted the offence. Magistrates sitting at Carlisle’s Rickergate court heard that Dean drove a BMW at Storth Brow, Low Scales on August 15 while over the limit. His ‘excess speed’ caused a crash, the court heard.
A breath test showed he has 47mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
He must also complete 60 hours of unpaid work and pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £95 surcharge.
