Health secretary Matt Hancock is isolating after being told he has come into contact with someone who is Covid-19 positive.
The Secretary of State for Health & Social Care and MP for West Suffolk plays a key role in the UK Government's Covid-19 response.
He led last night's Covid-19 press briefing from Downing Street. He was joined by Prof Stephen Powis, of NHS England and Dr Susan Hopkins, of Public Health England.
In a Twitter post this morning he told the public: "Last night I was alerted by the NHS Covid-19 app to self isolate so I'll be staying at home and not leaving at all until Sunday.
He took the opportunity to issue a plea: "We all have a part to play in controlling this virus."
