A road in the centre of Workington will be closed until late August.
In a notice served by Cumbria County Council, vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Hunter Street, Workington, from its junction with Vulcans Lane for its entire length to Grey Street.
This is to allow the Coal Authority to carry out demolition works to properties No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 Hunter Street.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Grey Street, Harrington Road and Vulcans Lane.
The Order came into operation on 24 May 2021 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.
However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 14 weeks.
