Departing Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger has delivered a farewell message to the club as he makes a move to Scottish League One.
Danny Grainger has left Borough Park to join Falkirk – along with former Carlisle United and Reds man Tony Caig.
Grainger has been named assistant coach after stepping down as Reds boss, while Caig has been named Falkirk’s goalkeeping coach and the pair will form part of the coaching team under new boss Paul Sheerin.
In his final interview with the Workington AFC website, Grainger said he would miss the ethos at Workington.
He said: “That was huge and a major culture that I want to be a part of; a ‘we’ culture, not a ‘me’ and ‘I’.
“The culture I wanted to create was about everybody, whether that was the kit man Phil Grisedale or the groundsman Dennis Rossi, who I had a fantastic relationship with.
"People like themselves and the board, we all wanted to pull in the same direction and that, for me, was massive.”
Fans were an important part of the journey, he said.
"At the end of the day, fans want their club to be successful and I wanted to know what makes their club successful," he said.
"That’s why we went out and met them, and asked them for their ideas on how we can help take the club forward.”
