RAZZAMATAZ put on an amazing show as part of the Pride of Cumbria awards.
The talented performers sang their rendition of 'Dear Evan Hansen' and 'Mamma Mia' in two pre-recorded videos at the awards show.
Razzmataz principal Matty Aitchison-Rayson said: "Razzamataz West Cumbria and Razzamataz Carlisle were delighted to be asked to perform at the Pride of Cumbria Awards 2021 and it was an honour to be able to support the ceremony, we are proud of our county and would like to congratulate all the finalists and winners.
"Our students love performing for the public and were all so keen to support the awards and jumped at the opportunity to perform. Both schools worked together to carefully select the songs chosen, we wanted to find something upbeat and fitting to our curriculum at Razzamataz, our students love ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ and ‘Mamma Mia’ so they were obvious choices.
"I watched the awards on my laptop live on the evening and the sense of pride I had for each and everyone of my students at Razzamataz West Cumbria, and I know Debbie will share the same sentiments for her students at Razzamataz Carlisle, is beyond words. These students aged 12-18 years have also overcome a very challenging year, but their resilience, passion and enthusiasm is unbelievable. They make us so proud each and everyday.
"They loved performing for such a special event and we were so pleased to be asked and be able to support and facilitate the performance."
Event organiser Carrie Buchanan praised the theatre group. She said: "It was wonderful that Razzamatazz were able to pull together two wonderful performances for us virtually, they are a joy to work with."
