A FISHERMAN was rescued early this morning after falling off his boat and into the Solway.
Maryport Rescue was called at at 12.16am and launched its emergency rescue boat.
It met up with Maryport Coastguard who had a swimmer in the water alongside the casualty off North Pier.
The fisherman was recovered and was treated for minor hypothermia by the North West Ambulance medics before being taken to hospital for further checks.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue also attended and Workington Lifeboat was launched to give assistance if needed.
