A WORKINGTON pensioner has admitted outraging public decency - by behaving indecently near to children's party.

Gary Davies, 65, entered his guilty plea during a brief appearance at Carlisle's Rickergate court.

It happened on August 29

The court heard the defendant was at Woodside, Broughton Moor, in west Cumbria when he behaved indecently while sitting in his car, which was parked 10 to 15 yards away from a children's party.

The car was facing the party, District Judge John Temperely was told. Lawyer Sam Martin, for Davies, said his client, who is hard of hearing, had instructed him to enter the guilty plea.

Appearing via a video link from prison, the defendant, of Firth View Walk, Workington, had his case sent to Carlisle Crown Court for sentencing on September 2 after background reports are prepared.

The judge remanded Davies in custody until then.
