Councillors will hear an update on the county's hospitals and the temporary closure of a Carleton Clinic ward in an upcoming meeting of the health scrutiny committee.
A public meeting of Cumbria County Council's health scrutiny committee is set to take place on Monday October 4 at 10.30am in Cumbria House, Carlisle.
The agenda includes a joint report from the chief operating officer of North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group and Chief Officer - NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group.
They will update county councillors on the impact Covid-19 is having on the county's hospitals as well as the work to implement the health and care bill, and Local Government Reform.
A report will be presented to the health scrutiny committee regarding the temporary closure of the Rowanwood Ward an intensive care psychiatric unit at Carleton Clinic. The mental health unit is set to be discussed between 2.30 and 3pm.
Reports will be presented to council by NHS England, NHS Improvement and Healthwatch Cumbria.
Updates will also be received on NHS Dentistry in North Cumbria and ambulance provision in Alston.
