Workington Town captain Jamie Doran has been helping budding future rugby league stars refine their skills.
Doran has been working on basic skills and tactics during curriculum time with pupils at Workington Academy.
Mal Holliday, curriculum lead for PE at the academy, said: “It is important that we form strong links with all local clubs to provide opportunities and use local role models to inspire our pupils.
"Many of our pupils support Workington Town and to have one of their players in school has created a buzz around the department, especially when so many attended the play-off final at Derwent Park.”
Doran was also interviewed by the Academy Radio before the play-off final.
Headteacher Des Bird said: “We are delighted to have such strong links with Workington Town, and are very thankful for their ongoing support.
"The students love having their sporting heroes come to school to help with their lessons and after-school clubs."
