TOWN councillors are hoping they can use some Government funding to pay for a Disney-style mural at Cockermouth library.
At their latest meeting, councillors discussed how best to spend the remaining Welcome Back Fund money. The money was allocated to help places bounce back following the pandemic.
They have agreed to spend just under £6,000 on new planters in Main Street and £480 cleaning the Mayo statue.
If Allerdale Council, which handles the fund locally, agrees they would like to spend some of the remaining money on a mural in the courtyard at the library.
They would also have to prepare or make a wall on which it could be created.
Cllr David Malloy said: "I think if we're going to do the mural we have to do it properly and put a wall up. We are trying to make a fun space for children, and encourage more people and children."
The Chamber of Trade would like to create another video advert, promoting Cockermouth as a holiday destination. It asked the council for £1,500 to cover the cost.
Cllr Andy Semple said: "I think the video is a good thing and I personally would be happy to support it."
Councillors decided that once they had a response from Allerdale regarding whether they would sponsor the mural another meeting would be held to make a decision on the chamber suggestion.
