A raucous comedy about a bunch of hard-working, hard-drinking miners on the brink of a musical revolution opens in a Keswick theatre tonight.
"The Glee Club is The Full Monty meets Brassed Off, " said a Theatre by the Lake spokesman. "Come down for a great night out with mates to lift the spirits!"
The show features live music and shines the spotlight on five hard-working, hard-drinking miners and a church organist rehearsing frantically for the local gala.
"This is the Glee Club, and though they’ve played their share of working men’s clubs, they’re not exactly the vanguard of a musical revolution.
"But this is the summer of ’62. Britain and music are about to change forever. And so are the lives of these six men," said the spokesman.
The show runs until Saturday, March 12. From March 1 to 12, people can get one ticket free for every ticket purchased.
