THE photos in this week’s nostalgia feature are all from various colour runs organised by Hospice at Home, West Cumbria.
We chose them not just because they are lovely photos and they support a great cause, but also because this month we celebrate colour.
On Friday, March 18, Hindus all around the world will celebrate Holi, or the festival of colour.
While many of our schools learn about and celebrate Diwali, it seems that Holi passes us by.
But it is a festival that should be shared by all because it celebrates the triumph of good over evil.
It also welcomes the change of the seasons from winter to spring. It is a time to give thanks for a good harvest.
Holi, it seems, is the original colour run.
