Residents in Allerdale are encouraged to sign up to pay their council tax by direct debit in order to receive the government’s £150 rebate payment direct to their bank account in April.
Residents not signed up to direct debit will have to apply to receive the money. Those already paying by direct debit need not do anything. The money will be sent to them.
The government announced on February 3 that households in England, which are in council tax bands A-D, will receive a £150 rebate to help with rising energy and other living costs.
Unlike another scheme announced by the government, this £150 rebate will not need to be repaid.
To sign up for direct debit call 0303 123 1702 or go to https://www.allerdale.gov.uk
