STAFF at Workington Morrison's have been raising cash in memory of three much-loved members of the 'Morrison's family'.

Morrison's colleagues family and friends raised money in memory of Gaynor Haworth to support the charities Mind and Turning Point, Glynn Scurr to support North West Kidney Patients Association and Terry Stevens to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

The staff and family of Gaynor, Glynn and Terry have raised the money through various activities such as charity nights, in-store raffles and charity nights in memory of their colleagues and friends.

In total more than £8,500 was raised for the various charities in their honour- with Morrisons match funding the totals raised at the various events to generate the final amount.

Money for the hospice was raised by doing a night time walk up Scafell pike by the family of Elaine Stevens who husband had died.

Hospice at Home received £3,264, the Kidney Patients Association raised £2,624.02 and Mind and Turning point had their totals split in memory of Gaynore, receiving £1,333.66 each.

Morrisons Community Champion, Lesley Jackson said: "Gaynor and Glynn both worked in the store for over 20 years were well liked by staff and customers alike

"Money was raised by hosting in store raffles, donations, quiz night and a glitz and bling charity night

"As you can imagine we are all very proud of our efforts in memory of two very well liked colleagues and friends."

The fundraising in these events are part of a wider drive by Morrisons, with the Workington store also raising more than £26,000 for company charity Clic Sargent Young Lives Vs Cancer in recent months.
