This week motorcyclists from across Cumbria banded together to deliver Easter eggs and food supplies to children in the area.

The West Cumbria Motorcycle Action Group organised the event which they have done so for the past thirty years.

A number of different motorcyclists from various groups came along to show their support including the Blue Angels.

Anne Crayston, the West Cumbria representative for the group said: "This was our annual Easter Egg Run and we collect Easter eggs for various charities, this year it was West Cumbria Hospice at Home and Age UK.

"The second charity asked us to also collect tinned and preserved goods for us to make up into hampers which will be sent out into the community because of the huge rise in the cost of living."

Barbara Stephens, a Trustee and Volunteer West Cumbria Hospice at Home said: "I thought it was brilliant, the West Cumbria Motorcycle Action Group have supported us for a number of years and we're very appreciative of everything they do for us.

"They've given us a lot of eggs that will be going to our patients families and volunteers and staff, as well as the significant financial donation."

Ms Crayston added: "Considering this was our first event since 2019 it went fantastically. People also gave us cash donations so we managed to collect around £360 which got split between the two charities.

"We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended and supported us. As well as those who came out and donated money and food goods."
