IF you are looking for something to do this bank holiday weekend, then look no further.
At the Times & Star we've compiled together a list of ten things to do in Workington and Allerdale.

- If you are a lover of health and fitness why not give the GO TRI Workington Super Sprint Charity Event a go. Taking place this Saturday at Workington leisure centre, participants can take on a super sprint, a 200m swim and a 4k static bike ride. All whilst raising money for a good cause.
- Spring is most certainly here, and what better way to enjoy it than a weekend in the Lake District. Allerdale is home to some of the most beautiful parts of the national park. Keswick in particular is an idyllic - if popular - location to spend a relaxed day out.
- If you'd prefer to avoid the noise and the crowds, then there is also Buttermere and Loweswater. These neighbouring lakes are set against the picturesque backdrop of the Cumbrian fells and are simply magnificent.
- If you are a movie lover then this why not head down to The Ritz Cinema in Workington. This weekend they will be showing Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
- Bank holidays are the perfect time to enjoy some drinks with your friends. Workington has a great nightlife scene that is sure to make this weekend extra special.
- If the weather's nice then you could always get out into the garden and have a family BBQ. Haigh's Butchers in Workington can meet all of your food needs for a fun afternoon.
- Workington has some great places to shop. With a range of chain and independent stores, you can have a really brilliant day out.
- Cockermouth has some amazing places to enjoy if you love history and culture. Why not pay a visit to the Wordsworth House, the birthplace of the world famous poet William Wordsworth.
- A day at the seaside is always a good choice and Allonby has you covered. You can take a in a walk on the seafront or enjoy a delicious ice cream at Twentyman's.
- Maryport is a real hidden gem, why not go for a walk on the historic harbourside or visit their fantastic aquarium.
