The Whitehaven Male Voice choir will be performing their annual concert, commencing at 7.30pm, on June 4, 2022, in the Solway Hall.
The choir are delighted to welcome the return visit of their guest soloist, Margaret Keys, who has guested with the choir on two previous occasions with great success.
Margaret is an internationally renowned classical soprano, performing light classical, popular, and Irish music, performing in such illustrious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, the London Palladium and New York’s Carnegie Hall, in the company of the superstars Andrea Bocelli, Alfie Boe and Russell Watson.
Margaret has also made several TV appearances on shows including BBC Songs of Praise, BBC Proms and on PBS American TV specials. The choir are very lucky indeed to have secured her services.
A spokesperson from The Whitehaven Male Voice Choir said: "After a long lay-off because of Covid-19 the choir started rehearsing again towards the end of last year and in December performed a Christmas Concert that was very well received by all who attended.
"Since the turn of the year the choir have been in rehearsals for their annual concert, which is being held on the Queens Jubilee weekend in June. The choir’s musical director, Colin Hoodless, has prepared a varied programme of old favourites and some new more modern pieces."

The Choir are also on the lookout for new members of all age groups, they ask only that you have an interest in music and a willingness to learn. The Choir rehearse every Thursday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in St Gregory’s and St Patrick’s Church, Quay Street, Whitehaven.
The spokesperson added: "If you are interested please feel free to come to one of our rehearsals, you will be made most welcome and you never know, you might get to like us."
