A new rugby union team is showing the boys what they are made of.
Workington Zebra Finches is a new girls team who are showing remarkable promise, according to coach Ron Spencer.
In fact, one team member, Skye Smith, has been selected for the county team after only playing rugby for 12 weeks.
The team came together in February this year and is being coached by Ron Spencer, who formerly coached girls' rugby at Netherhall Rugby Club in Maryport.
"With women's sport growing nationally and teams now being added to clubs across the country, now is the time for Workington Zebra Finches Women's team to add to their successful season by expanding the women and girl's section within the club," Mr Spencer said.
"In view of this, it is the club's ambition to establish teams at under 12, 14, 16 and 18.
"The future is looking extremely favorable at present as there are successful girls' teams established in all corners of the Cumbria County giving rise to plenty of fixtures without the need to venture further afield."
Training nights are every Tues 5:30 – 6:30 at the Ellis Sports Ground.
