A stunning quilt created to mark the Queen's jubilee will take pride of place in the town hall wedding ceremony room.
Seventeen members of Cockermouth WI have spent hundreds of hours working on the unique piece which will be on show in the United Reformed Church on Saturday, as part of the group's exhibition highlighting the 70 years the Queen has been in the WI.
Imelda Westwood, 80, has lead the sewing group. "We were asked to do this in September. Normally a quilt would take a year but we only had six months so everyone has been working hard," she said.
"Everyone put their ideas into the pot. We wanted to use pastel colours so it would fit in in the town hall wedding venue. It will also sparkle because of the beading."
There is lots of detail in the quilt, which will appear at the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate before being hung in the town hall.
"We wanted to keep it fun, focusing on things the queen likes, such as primroses, corgis and trees. We are proud to know that the queen throughout her reign has been a WI lady," said Mrs Westwood.
"A Scottish WI member did a thistle, an Irish one did a shamrock and an English one did a rose."
Mrs Westwood started quilting in the 1980s and been teaching adults since 1990.
"I have loved every minute," she said.
Over the years she has been involved with the design and creation of more than 20 quilts.
"This is probably my last ever group hanging that I will co-ordinate," she said.
"I love it, it's so professional."
The WI's exhibition will run from 10am to 3pm on Saturday. Entry (£2.50) includes tea/ coffee and cake, with all proceeds going to Cumbria Youth Alliance.
