A MAN has been taken to hospital with injuries after a report of an assault involving 'a bladed article' earlier this afternoon.

Police were called to the incident on Northside, Workington at 1:19pm.

The report was of an assault involving two men known to each other, one man was reported to have a bladed article.

A man in his 30’s was taken to West Cumberland Infirmary with injuries described as minor. He has since been released from hospital.

A man in his 30’s have been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.

A spokesman for Cumbria police said: "Officers attended the scene, including armed officers as a precaution.

"This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no perceived threat to the wider community."

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
