IT'S always a sad day when a much-loved restaurant or favourite cafe closes its doors for good.
But the memories of our favourite haunts can linger for a long time.
Here are some of the Allerdale establishments that are missed by our readership.
Many of our readers shared their thoughts on Impressions, which was located on Vulcan's Lane in Workington.
The restaurant appears to have been very popular with residents with many of them saying that they miss dining there.
One reader said: "Impressions on Vulcans Lane in Workington, was beautiful home cooked food. Nowhere like it since it closed."
Another said: "Impressions. I loved their Mexican tornado steak."
Impressions was known for its good quality cuisine and was loved by locals and visitors alike.
Another restaurant that many of our readers have said that they have missed is Casa Romana in Workington.
Casa Romana was an incredibly popular Italian restaurant serving authentic cuisine.
Many people enjoyed visiting the venue and the higher-end Italian food that they had on offer.
Luckily the small eating chain still have branches in Carlisle and Whitehaven, so food lovers won't have to travel too far to enjoy the fantastic food.
Other readers commented on Traveller's Rest in Workington. The restaurant was towards the entrance to the town and was very popular with people in the area.
They served home cooked food that was enjoyed by many and had a strong reputation within the community.
Unfortunately, the Traveller's Rest has had to close recently and is no longer open to the public. The owner now owns another eatery in Allerdale towards Cockermouth called The Dovenby Ship.
One restaurant that a number of our readers mentioned when asked about their most missed restaurant in the Allerdale area was Coach House Swiss Restaurant, in Wigton.
It was located in a wonderful countryside venue in close proximity to popular tourist towns like Cockermouth and Keswick.
The Coach House sold authentic cuisine and was clearly a very important place to those who visited, with a number of our readers commenting on how they miss it.
