MISS North Cumbria will be hosting a series of charity nights to raise money for a cause close to her heart.

Roseanne Reed-Brough, 27, from Great Orton, will be kicking off a run of charity do's with the 'Ultimate Charity Evening & Dinner' at the Andalusian on July 7 - with all funds being raised going towards Cancer Research and Alex's Wish.

"Cancer Research is a close charity to me, with my father passing away to lung cancer late 2019," she said.

"One in two of us will get some form of cancer in our lifetime, so I just feel its really important to raise not only vital funds for research with this, but awareness to save lives too. Especially cervical cancer in women - young women especially."

Members of the public are being invited to get involved in what will be a spectacular evening, as the night is to host an exclusive catwalk by Carols Bridal Boutique showcasing 'occasion wear' as well as live music by the talented Kyle Newrick and others.

The mother of three, who competed in last year's Miss Great Britain Finals and will be competing again this year, said anyone is welcome and 'their support would mean the world' to her.

Tickets are priced at £45 and includes a two course meal, complimentary drink as well as wine on the table on top of the nights events - and can be purchased via the Andalusian and also available via Eventbrite.

"My aim is to reach £10,000 for charity before October. This won't stop there though; I love events and is something I shall continue to do for great causes.

"I took part in the Pretty Muddy Race For Life event last month and raised almost £500 which was a great start to my reign as Miss North Cumbria," she said.

Roseanne, who has been involved in pageantry since she was 17, gave thanks to the owner of the Andalusian and her team, Tracey Bowman, for all their help in helping to orchestrate the event and getting other businesses involved along the way.

Miss North Cumbria will be hosting another couple of events with the Andalusian before the Miss Great Britain Finals in October, including afternoon tea with live music and a wine and cheese tasting evening.
