THE biggest little art exhibition is back after a two-year Covid break.
Artex is held in the small seaside village of Allonby in an equally small village hall - but it attracts a large number of artists and members of the public.
Janet Wilshaw, one of the organisers, said there will be fewer artists than usual exhibiting this year - but that still means around 40 Cumbrian artists with 200 pieces of work on display.
"I am not sure why we are down on numbers. I think there are more exhibitions and events on this year but, also, but I have heard of some artists who have been 'demotivated' by lockdown. You put things off and they don't get done."
This is the 42nd annual exhibition.
As well as artwork to admire and buy, Mrs Wilshaw said she hoped the Allonby calendar would be available during the four-day exhibition.
The calendar will feature some of the artwork pertaining to Allonby.
The exhibition will be open from 12 to 5pm on Friday, July 22 and from 10am to 6pm on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
