POLICE are continuing their appeal for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the road to Allonby near Maryport Golf Club on Sunday September 11 at around 4pm.
The collision involved a Black Ford Fiesta, Red Fiat Panda and a Kawasaki motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle a man in his 70s was been taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary where he remains in hospital with life threatening injuries.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was driving between Silloth and Maryport on Sunday 11th Sept between 3:45pm and 4:15pm in particular anyone travelling towards Maryport. Any information even if you did not witness the collision could help assist our investigation.
Officers are also appealing to anyone who was using the golf course and that may have witnesses he collision and in particular two men who assisted at the scene.
The driver of the Fiat was uninjured, the driver of the Ford sustained minor cuts.
The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol above the limit and released under investigation.
