A FORMER Workington MP has been announced as the new Vice-President of Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
Local charity Hospice at Home West Cumbria have confirmed the appointment of Baroness Hayman of Ullock (Sue Hayman) as new Vice-President, at their Annual General Meeting on October 6 2022.
Sue Hayman is a Shadow Minister on Housing, Communities and Local Government and on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the House of Lords.
She was Member of Parliament for Workington from 2015 to 2019, and served as Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from 2017 to 2019.
Brendon Cook, Chairman of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We are extremely pleased that Sue has agreed to accept our invitation to be our Vice President.
"She comes with a wealth of experience and will, I am sure, be an amazing advocate for our Hospice Charity in the House of Lords.”

A former Cumbria County councillor, Sue lives with her husband on a smallholding in rural West Cumbria. She works closely with environmental bodies, charities and campaign groups.
Dr Brian Herd, president of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We are delighted to welcome Baroness Hayman of Ullock, formerly the MP for Workington, as a Vice President of Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
"We realise there are many calls on Sue's time and we are honoured that she has accepted this role.
"We look forward to introducing her to the Hospice team and its many supporters.”
