WOMEN'S rugby league may be on the horizon for West Cumbria as Workington Town announced plans to lauch a women's rugby team for Allerdale.
Workington Town RLFC have announced that they plan to launch a Workington Town women's team to boost rugby league in the area.
The annuncement comes after a great boost for the women's game nationally, through the Women's Rugby League World Cup which is currently taking place in England.
Workington Town will be holding an open evening to discuss their plans, to gauge interest and have a tour of the current facilities- anyone is welcome to attend the event which will be held on November,8 at 6.30pm in the Tom Mitchell Lounge at Derwent Park.

The club are looking for suggstons on a name ,players,officials, support and backroom staff, as well as partners and sponsors.
Workington Town Director, Graeme Peers said: "As part of the continual development of Workington Town RLFC which we aluded to in public statements earlier this year we are passionate about the provision of a platform for all demographics to engage with sport and leisure and enjoy the benefits it brings.
"We are delighted to take our first step in creating a women's Rugby League team in Allerdale, based from Derwent Park.
"Women's sport is booming and the success of the RLWC and the diversity and the inclusion example it is setting is inspiring and we feel this is the time to build upon the interest in women's sport.

"Our open day will allow interested parties to give us a base to start from with the intention of entering a team in the RFL national competition in 2023."
Women from all across Allerdale will be invited to join the team and be part of the 'fastest growing womens sport in the UK'.
The England Women's team have created a real buzz throughout the womens tournament of this years Rugby League World Cup beating Brazil 72-4.
