AN event in memory of a popular Workington singer raised more than £1,000 for much loved West Cumbrian charity Hospice at Home.
The Black and Bling night was held in Senhouse Street Working Mens Club in Workington on Friday, October 21 in memory of popular West Cumbrian performer Keith Ray.
Organised by Janice Bond, Doreen Bulman, Janette Fearon the 'Black and Bling' evening raised over £1000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.
The event was preceeded by an afternoon tea also held in Senhouse Street Club with the two events raising around £1,700 combined.
One of the organisers, Janice Bond said: "It was a great night had by everyone that attended and we raised lots of money for Hospice at Home which is amazing.
"We also had a fantastic afternoon tea which also raised vital funds for the charity.
"Keith Ray started this event off with us 11 years ago and the three people who took part in organising, giving their time up all did it for him.

"We would also like to thank everyone for their donations for prizes as they were all superb."
Hospice at Home West Cumbria supports people at the end of their life, providing car in their homes so they do not need to go into hospital.
The charities vision is to provide all people in West Cumbria have timely access to personalised high quality palliative and end of life care.
