A WOMAN has claimed she was assaulted by a 'female who was with a number of males' in Workington.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which is reported to have occurred on Sunday (November 20), between 9.45am and 10.45am.

A woman reported being assaulted by "a female who was with a number of males at the time", Cumbria Police said.

She was not hurt.

The location was on the Westfield Bridge which is above the cycle line at Westfield Drive and is located between the Moorclose and Westfield areas.

Officers said they are "particularly keen to hear from a male who walked past and who may have witnessed what occurred."

The male is described as being "quite tall and skinny, having short dark hair, wearing a black jacket."

Officers would also like to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed this incident or who can provide CCTV or dashcam of the area at the time.
