MARK Jenkinson MP has been delivering Christmas hampers to veterans this week.
This is the third consecutive year he has been taking gifts to former armed forces personnel to say thank you for their service.
The hampers are stocked full of produce including cheese, tea, crackers, beer and smoked meats courtesy of generous donations from local suppliers.
The MP said: “The annual tradition started during Covid – to bring a bit of cheer to our veterans, and to thank them for their service.
“The hampers have been particularly well-received this year, and I am delighted that this festive tradition is going from strength to strength.”
This year Mr Jenkinson also delivered copies of The Snowman to every primary school pupil in the constituency for the third consecutive year.
He also launched a school Christmas card competition.
The judging panel received hundreds of eye-catching festive entries, making it very challenging to whittle it down to the final few.
Mr Jenkinson met each of the winners to present to them their awards, and their designs will feature on his annual Christmas card which have been delivered to constituents throughout the week.
