ONE year on from the tragic deaths of much-loved mother and baby Natalie and Harry Kane, Natalie's friends have paid tribute to the 'two beautiful angels'.

It is almost one year on since the Maryport mother was found dead at her Whitehaven home alongside her beloved son in what a coronor described as a 'tragedy of unimaginable proportions'.

27-year-old Natalie and her 14-month-old son Harry were found dead at their Wellington Row, Whitehaven home on December 30, 2021, having not been seen for several days.

Almost a year on, her best friends have shared a tribute to the late mother and child who they say 'will be looking down' on them over the festive period.

The community of West Cumbria was rocked by the deaths of the pair, with memorials taking place in different areas of West Cumbria in the weeks following their deaths.

Natalie's friends Stacey Hackett and Ashton Graham led tributes to the mother and baby at the time of their death. Now, one year on, they have spoken again to reveal what life is like without the pair.

Friend Stacey Hacket said: "I can't believe it's been a whole year without seeing both of you. Christmas without you both here is heartbreaking.

"You and Harry are both loved and missed by so many and it's been extremely hard without you both here.

"Me and Ashton have decided next year, we will travel to places and we will have stickers of you and Harry made, so each place we go, we place a sticker and it's like you are both with us.

"As we approach Christmas without you, it's hard to think we can have a good day, but that's not what you or Harry would want.

"You would want us all to have a good day.

"I know you'll be looking down on us all, proud and smiling those beautiful smiles. Happy Christmas to our two amazing beautiful angels, Natalie and Harry Kane."

At a joint funeral for the mother and son in January, Natalie was commended for the work that she did with west Cumbrian charity Women Out West.

The CEO Rachel Holliday wrote a eulogy which was read out by the vicar during the service.

Rachel described Natalie has being a hard worker for the charity and said that she had blossomed throughout her pregnancy with Harry.

In September , a coroner concluded that both died between December 24 and 30 – Natalie having succumbed to the effect of butane inhalation, and Harry having been ‘left alone and unable to fend for himself due to his tender age’.
