Pupils came together to sing classic assembly songs in support of Jason Manford’s campaign for UK food banks.
Youngsters from Seaton Academy and Seaton St Paul’s C of E Junior School joined forces to sing well-known ‘Assembly Bangers’ that have been heard in school halls for decades.
Items were also collected for the local food bank, in support of Jason Manford’s ‘Assembly Bangers’ UK Food Bank Appeal.
A video of the students singing songs including ‘This Little Light of Mine’ and ‘Sing Hosanna’ has gone viral on Facebook.
Robert Barton, headteacher at Seaton Academy, said: “We are overwhelmed by the huge amount of support we have received from this video.
“Children and staff alike have enjoyed making the video, and it’s wonderful to bring the Seaton Infants and Junior Schools together to collaborate in this way, strengthening the links between the schools.
“Furthermore, I was tremendously proud to take five large bags of donated items to the local food bank, in support of the Jason Manford’s ‘Assembly Bangers’ UK Food Bank Appeal. Thank you to all involved.”
Lynn Carini, headteacher at Seaton St Paul’s School said: “Seaton St Paul’s C of E Junior School were delighted to join Seaton Academy in this collaborative song. The schools are at the heart of the community and the response from everyone has been overwhelming.
“Events like this are a clear example of how working together is vital to our children and their families to ensure the children of Seaton get an educational experience they deserve.”
